Description: The Melon Fruit Fly is active year-round, with behavior varying by season. In winter, they seek shelter under dried leaves, while in hot, dry weather, they hide in humid, shady spots and feed on aphid honeydew. Adults can survive up to a year at room temperature if fed fruit juices. The life cycle ranges from 21 to 179 days, with 8 to 10 generations per year. The egg incubation period is 1 to 5 days, and larvae develop in 3 to 21 days, depending on conditions and host.
